Think-Pair-Share means that the students first think individually about a question (or issue, situation, idea, etc) and then share their solution or idea with another students and discuss about it. Finally the results are being discussed in the class.
- "Think": Teacher asks a question about a topic or concept. Students think individually about their answer (1-3 minutes)
- "Pair": Students are paired with another (if uneven numbers, allow 3) to discuss their answers (2-5 minutes).
- "Share": The discuss is expanded to the whole class. Students can be called randomly or have volunteers to discuss their proposed solutions and any difficulties they had.
