Think-Pair-Share means that the students first think individually about a question (or issue, situation, idea, etc) and then share their solution or idea with another students and discuss about it. Finally the results are being discussed in the class.

All subjects
Sequence of activities
  • "Think": Teacher asks a question about a topic or concept. Students think individually about their answer (1-3 minutes)
  • "Pair": Students are paired with another (if uneven numbers, allow 3) to discuss their answers (2-5 minutes).
  • "Share": The discuss is expanded to the whole class. Students can be called randomly or have volunteers to discuss their proposed solutions and any difficulties they had.
